You may begin seeing the increase of tourists in Baku. And the good thing about the tourist is that you will recognize them. The good thing about being a tourist is that you are enjoying your holiday - so you might as well relax. Considering the increase of the tourists in Baku we have decided to

go to Beh-Beh Club. This place is a national cuisine offering place, located in Terlan Aliyebeyov street. Most of you may not know about this - but this is necessarily not your fault, the usage of street names and addresses are not widely spread - instead we use the popular places around to direct people to places. So the street which New Beh-Beh Club is placed (Terlan Aliyerbeyov) does cross with the Nizami street of Tarqova. It is the street which starts from the left side of Mexx - after 15-20 meters you are there.

As soon as we have entered the place we have been greeted with hospitality and warm gestures. This was probably because we were the only ones in the place - so the waiters needed some fun too. But they were nice. The waiters can be easily distinguished from other people by their uniforms. The design of the place does correlate with the cuisine they offer. National cuisine in national designed placed. National attributes like the carpets, pots, wood (anything related with the brown color), various souvenirs etc.

As soon as we sat down, we were given a huge menu - which gives information about what they offer and what are the ingredients. And also the pictures are placed on the menus so you can know how your dish will look like. Maybe in the future they will also write the recipe for preparing the dish in the menus as well.

So we have made our order:

·         Beh-Beh salad - salad from chicken brisket, prune, boiled potatoes, salty cucumber, dutch cheese coated overhand by mayonnaise.  3.5 AZN

·         Beh-Beh meat course- steak roasted in ceramic ware with dutch cheese, mushrooms, onions and sour cream. – 7.5 AZN

 And as a drink we have ordered Coca-Cola. One of us wanted his Coca-Cola with two pieces of lemon and half glass ice. However the order was forgotten. Instead he had to drink his Coca-Cola from a wine glass without any lemon or ice. However he was insistent for getting his order right, so he reminded about the order. After reminding him about the actual order, 10 minutes has passed for the ice to come. But the lemon never came.

The seats of this place are made of wood as well as the tables. They are leaning places for the arms and the back are soft - so you might as well relax. As mentioned before the design was made in national motives of Azerbaijan culture. The only first thing which has not fitted this scene was that this place does not have a music of its own. Sometimes they have chill-out music, afterwards Pink-Panther. At 20 in the evening a musician started to play on the keyboard. Of course it took him about 10 minutes to get the engine warm. During this time we have heard the fight between the sound coming from the keyboard and the music of the place. And after getting the engine warm the musician have played the theme music from Soviet cartoon "Antoshka". This song for those who do not know about it is not a traditional Azerbaijani song. So if any tourist hears this music in a national cuisine place he does not have to get into discussion with a Russian claiming that this is a traditional Azerbaijani song. This is Soviet song with Russian lyrics. And also for those who does not know about it matryoshka dolls are not traditional Azerbaijani souvenirs even though they are sold in the Old City. The second thing is that the windows are limited and their opening area is to the branch roads where you can see bars and hotels.

Starting with the salad. This salad mainly has no difference with other salads like Olivier salad or stolichniy salad. The only difference is that this did not have chick peas. It can be understood from the salad itself that the cook did not spend a lot of time to make this salad special to the place. It is presented in a pot and it was considerably new. When we say new that means that it was prepared this morning not when you have ordered. How we have understood this is because of the chicken meat, potatoes and cheddar sticking to each other.

The second order was also presented in a pot. Beef, molten cheddar, onion, mushrooms and on top of it all yogurt. The amount of the ingredients and their contribution to the whole taste was quite good. However the water from cheddar and yogurt which will come in the bottom of the meal may make you feel uncomfortable. Overall it was a nice meal to have.

We have asked the waiter to keep a menu on our table. However sometime later when two foreigners came to the next table, the menu from our table was taken without even asking. That was unfortunate.

However if you have foreign guests, or if you are a foreign guest New Beh-Beh Club is a place you can easily come and spend time for eating. There is an English language menu and at least one of the waiter speaks the language.

Bakıda turistlərin sayında olan artımı nəzərə alaraq biz Yeni Bəh-Bəh Kluba getməyi qərara aldıq. Tərlan Əliyarbəyov küçəsində yerləşən bu məkan milli mətbəxdən yeməklər təqdim edir. Böyük ehtimal ki, siz bu küçənin adını heç eşitməmisiniz amma bu sizin səhviniz deyil çünki biz adətən hər hansı bir məkanın yerləşməsini tərif edəndə vəya soruşanda onun daha çox nəyin yanında olduğunu soruşuruq. Yeni Bəh-Bəh Klubun yerləşdiyi küçə (Tərlan Əliyarbəyov) Nizami küçəsi (Targovaya) ilə kəsişir vəya bizim anlayacağımız tərzdə desək Mexx mağazasından sola dönəndəki küçə ilə 15-20 metr irəlidə sağ tərəfdədir.

Məkana daxil olan kimi bizi gülərüzlə salamladılar və əyləşmək üçün yer təklif etdilər. Bəlkə də bu, o an üçün məkanda olan yeganə müştəri olmağımızda irəli gələn xüsusi qonaqpərvərlik idi. Ancaq səbəb hər nə idisə biz bundan məmnun idik. Məkanın dizaynında milli atributlardan gen-bol istifadə olunub ki, bu da onun mətbəxi ilə həmahəng yaradır. Dizaynda xalçalardan, taxtadan (qəhvəyi rəngin müxtəlif çalarlarından) və suvenirlərdən geniş istifadə olunub.

İçki olaraq isə biz Coca-Cola sifarış etdik. Bizlərdən biri içkinin buzlu və limonlu olmasını istədi. Ancaq istək yaddan çıxdı. Əvəzində kolanı şərab stəkanından buzsuz və limonsuz içməli oldu. İstəyini ikinci dəfə xatırladandan sonra 10 dəqiqə ərzində buz gətirildi amma təəssüf ki, limon gətirilmədi. Limonu görmədik.

Masalar stullar kimi taxtadan idi. Üzəri yumşaq örtüklə örtüldüyündən özünüzü kifayət qədər rahat hiss edəcəksiniz. Daha əvvəl də qeyd olunduğu kimi məkan Azərbaycan mədəniyyəti motivlərinə uyğun şəkildə dizayn olunub. Dizayna uyğun gəlməyən yeganə nüans məkanda səslənən musiqidir. Gah chill-out (həzin,rahatladıcı musiqi) gah da Cəhrayı Panteradan musiqilərə qulaq asmalı olduq. Axşam saat 8ə yaxın pianoçu pianoda musiqi ifa etməyə başladı. Amma “mühərriyi qızdırmaq” üçün pianoçuya 10 dəqiqə vaxt lazım oldu. Bu müddət ərzində isə məkanda səslənən musiqi və pianoçunun ifa etdiyi musiqi arasında çaşıb qaldıq. Bu da qulağa heç xoş olmadı. Hazır olandan sonra pianoçu məşhur Sovet cizgi filmindən hamımızın bildiyi “Antoşka” mahnısını ifa etdi. Bilməyən üçün bildirək ki, bu mahnı Azərbaycan milli musiqisinə aid deyil. Əgər bunu milli mətbəxi ilə tanınan bir restoranda eşidən turist rusun ona mahnının onlara məxsus olması fikri qarşısında qalsa onda O  asand təslim olmayacaq. Rus sözləri ilə rus mahnısı. Bu qədər. Əminik ki, siz bilirsiz amma yenə də bir xatırlatma edək. Matroşka da Azərbaycan milli suveniri deyil. Amma İçəri Şəhərdə satılır. İkinci mənfi cəhət odur ki, məkanda pəncərə sayısı çox azdır və açılan görüntü ara küçələrə, barlara və hotellərədir.

Salatla başladıq. Bu salatın Olivye vəya başqa adla Paytaxt Salatından elə də böyük fərqi yoxdur. Əsas fərq ondadır ki, bu salatda yaşıl noxud yox idi. Asanlıqla başa düşmək olar ki, baş aşbaz salatın məxsusi alınması üçün çox vaxt sərf etməyib. Kiçik saxsı qabda təqdim olunan salat təzə idi. Təzə deyərkən biz salatın səhər hazır olmasını nəzərdə tuturuq. Sifarişdən sonra hazırlanmamışdı. Çünki salatdakı kartof və Holland pendiri bir-birinə yapışmışdı.

İkinci sifarış də saxsı qabda təqdim olundu. Can əti, holland pendiri, soğan, göbələk və bunların üzərinə qatıq. İngredientlərin miqdarı və yeməyə verdiyi dad yaxşı idi. Amma qatıqdan və pendirdən çıxan su qabın dibinə dolaraq sizə yeməkdən zövq almağa çətinlik yaradacaq. Ümumilikdə yemək yaxşı idi.

Ofisiantdan menyunu saxlamasını istəmişdik amma bir müddət sonra iki əcnəbi müştəri gəlincə menyu bizim icazəmiz olmadan götürüldü. Oldu da!

Ancaq siz məkana xarici qonağınızla gəlsəz Bəh-Bəh Klubda sizə ingiliscə menyu təqdim olunacaq və ofisiantlardan ən azı biri dili bildiyi üçün sizə sifarışınizdə kömək edəcək.
