BRC - in the land of coffee...

Place: BRC
Location: H.Zerdabi str. 569
Time: 18.55
Price: 7.85 AZN

A Turkish proverb says that coffee should be black as hell; strong as death, and sweet as love. Coffee is an interesting story, the actual word has been derived from Ottoman Turkish "kahve" (which was taken from Arabic) to Italian caffe, and in the end became coffee. Throughout hundreds of years this drink has been developed and new alternatives have been created. However in Azerbaijan the coffee culture as in many western countries cannot be experienced, nor a tradition as in eastern countries.

Firuze Restaurant - National Meat, National Chicken

Price: 12 AZN
Date: 07.12.2011
Time: 15.54

After writing a few blogs in the amateurgourmets, the situation has brought us to the point where we thought of trying a national dish. And among many places which you can have a national dish, we have chosen Firuze - for its popularity and location attributes. A restaurant, just nearby the Fountain Square.
The place being on Fountain Square makes it easier to get to, its popularity is known by both the locals and foreigners (tourists). The main attribute of Firuze is that it is a national designed place, with all the souvenirs and carpets. Photos of Old Baku are hanged in the place. However during our stay there, the music that was played was nothing national. It can be seen that the place is clean, and tidiness of the place is nice.
